Do you know how to exercise to improve your health?

We’ve all heard that we should exercise to stay healthy. Did you know that exercise can be used to prevent and treat chronic diseases, injuries and other medical conditions?

The common approach to dealing with pain is to rest and avoid activity. This helps in the short term but it won’t solve the problem. To address ongoing or recurring pain you need a proactive treatment approach. This also applies to people wanting to improve their athletic performance.

Exercise Physiology focuses on identifying the source of your pain or weakness and addressing it through targeted exercises. Our Exercise Physiologist will show teach you the correct exercise techniques, explain their benefits and progress them as you improve.

Yes, you may be able to claim for Exercise Physiology depending on your private health cover. We have a HICAPS machine on site.

How often do I need to have a session?

The time between your appointments will depend on the severity of the condition. They can range from every 1-3 weeks. As your function improves, your sessions will become less frequent. The Exercise Physiologist may want to do a review appointment a few months after your final session to ensure you’re progressing and haven’t had any other problems with your recovery. They will advise you about this.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule a session?

We understand that things happen that may stop you from attending your scheduled session. If you need to cancel we require 24 hours’ notice. To avoid paying a cancellation fee, we require you to reschedule the new appointment within 24 hours either side of your original appointment.
